Bernie 13th July 2018

Growing up next door to Rita, I always remember her as a ‘tomboy’. She liked to climb trees, play ‘Cowboys and Indians’, and could certainly hold her own with the boys in the cricket matches we played in the street. She had a musical side, which expressed itself in her piano-playing. She practiced for many hours and outscored me in a test we took at the London School of Music. She was a devoted daughter to “Doll”, and a loving mother to Paul. After I came to America, I enjoyed her letters, then audio tapes and then e-mails. And, of course, my wife and I always looked forward to the very creative cards she made for Christmas and my birthday. Our world has lost a dear friend. Bernie & Cj
